April 17, 2008 8:00 PM

 

President Heithoff called the Special April 17, 2008 Elgin Public School Board Meeting to order at 8 PM.  Board members present were Steve Heithoff, Stan Heithoff, Laurie Waterbury, Bruce Anderson, Mary Bauer, and Scott Beckman.  Also present were Superintendent Fredrickson and Principal Fisher.

 

 The purpose of the special meeting was to accept a resignation and to discuss teacher negotiations.

 

President Heithoff reminded everyone that a copy of the Nebraska open meeting law was posted in the meeting room.

 

 School board meeting notice complied with Meeting Notice Policy # 204.07.

 

Waterbury moved, Anderson seconded to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion passed on a 6 to 0-yes vote.

 

Bauer moved to accept the resignation of Lori Newcomb, with regret, at the end of the 2007/2008 school year. Beckman second. Motion passed on with a unanimous yes vote.

 

Beckman then moved to enter closed session to discuss teacher negotiations, to protect the public interest. Anderson  second.  Motion passed on a 6 to 0 yes vote. 

 

President Heithoff then restated the motion, that the Board will enter closed session for teacher negotiations to protect the public interest. 

 

The Board entered closed session for teacher negotiations at 8:40 PM.

 

The Board returned to open session at 9:21 PM.

 

Waterbury  moved, Bauer seconded to adjourn the Special April 17, 2008 School Board Meeting at 9:24 PM.  Motion passed with a 6 to 0 yes vote.
