Elgin FFA Chapter Banquet

The Elgin FFA Chapter held it’s 41st annual Banquet the evening of Thursday, March 24th in the EPS Gymnasium, with over 150 members, parents, and guest in attendance. Throughout the night several members and friends of the FFA were recognized for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
Individuals receiving special recognition were Curtis C. – Star Greenhand Award, Carlie R. – Central Valley Ag: Excellence in Leadership and Education Award, Jessica M. – Star Chapter Farmer, & Kyle.– Star in Agricultural Placement. The Elgin FFA Chapter awarded Lucy’s Flower Corner (Chis Bolling & Lucy Allemang) with the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree for their help and dedication to the Elgin FFA Program. The Chapter Officer Team was slated through an interview process which was held earlier the previous week, the Officers for the 2008 – 2009 year are: President: - Linsey B., Vice-President: - Tyler R., Associate Vice-President – Curtis C. (Pope John) & Ashley D. (Elkhorn Valley), Secretary – Carlie R., Treasurer – Nathan N., Reporter – A. J. B., and Sentinel – Brittany K.
Upcoming Chapter Activities – The chapter will be holding a trash pickup day on the 12th of May along with FCCLA. There will be a meeting for present first year members and upcoming potential FFA members on Thursday, May 15, 2008, and and the 2008 – 2009 officer team will be travining to Aurora NE for the Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) May 29th-31st, .
