I have been employed at the Elgin Public School since February 1995. I am a para in the Special Education Department under Mrs. Kim Zwingman. The playground supervisor during noon recess and I also go to other classrooms and assist with Reading Mastery. I am the High School Dance Team Sponsor and I also keep scorebooks for the Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams.
Elgin has always been my home. I lived on a farm 8 miles west of Elgin until my Junior year of high school and we moved to town. I graduated from Elgin High School in 1978. I married Kenny Jochum and he is the CVA Agronomy Location Manager in Elgin. Our two children also graduated from Elgin High School. Brent graduated in 2002 and lives in Norfolk and works for Pettitt Plumbing and Heating. Shanda graduated in 2005 and attended Northeast Community College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood in 2007. She will be a Senior at Wayne State College this year and will graduate in May with a degree in Family and Consumer Science/Early Childhood. We also have a Pomiranian named Zeke.
I enjoy spending time with my family, working in my yard and flower gardens, walking our dog, cooking, shopping with Shanda, attending Brent's stock car races and watching NASCAR races.
I LOVE MY JOB and our students at EHS (both elementary and high school) are the greatest.
