ALL STATE MUSIC WAS AWESOME!

An experience of a lifetime! That’s what Devin had as a member
of the Nebraska All State Choir. We headed to Lincoln on November
18 for 3 days of rehearsing with the best vocal group and pride of
Nebraska. The clinician was originally from St. Petersburg, Russia
and now resides in San Jose, California as an artistic choral
director. She was a wonderful director and could draw out amazing
sounds from the 450 member choir!
Three days of rehearsing and we are ready to perform. The concert was in the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln on Friday, November 20. The auditorium was full of parents, teachers and friends as the chorus sang like angels. They performed songs in Latin, English and Russian. One number was especially personal for the conductor and talked about her Russian homeland – the audience was very appreciative of that performance. It was an immediate standing ovation for the chorus at the performance’s end. Mrs. Jones feels this was one of the best All State Choirs she has heard in many years. Devin’s family will agree that he will remember this experience for many years to come!
